'Dear Reader,I'm sorry to say that the book you are holding in your hands is extremely unpleasant. It tells the unhappy tale about three very unlucky children. Even though they are charming and clever, the Baudelaire siblings lead lives of misery and woe. From the very first page of this book when the children are at the beach and receive terrible news continuing on through the entire story, disaster lurks at their heels. One might say they are magnets for misfortune. In this short book alone, the three young children encounter a greedy and repulsive villian, itchy clothing, a disastrous fire, aplot to steal thier fortune, and cold porridge for breakfast. It is my sad duty to write down these unpleasant tales, but there is nothing stopping you from putting down this at once and reading something happy, if you prefer that sort of thing. With all due respect,Lemony Snicket
'A group of blackmailed guests gather in a remote mansion, hosted by a daffy butler (Tim Curry), in this campy adaptation of the popular board game. Suspicions flare when their ostensible extortionist, Mr. Boddy, appears--and drops dead in the study. Hidden passageways, double entendres, and creative murder weapons come into play as bodies drop, disappear, and reappear on one dark and stormy night. An all-star cast assume the roles of Professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd), Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn), Miss Scarlet (Lesley Ann Warren), and the rest of the multicolored bunch as the one-liners fly in this jaunty whodunit. It all concludes with three alternate endings that let viewers decide who the real murderer was.'
'Harry Potter has never played a sport on the back of a broomstick. He has never worn a cloak of invisibility, befriended a giant, or helped hatch a dragon. All Harry knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle and their abominable son, Dudley. Harry's room is a tiny cupboard at the end of the stairs and he hasn't had a birthday party in eleven years.'But all that is about to change when Harry gets a mysterious letter from a from an owl messenger: an invitation to a wonderful place he never dreamed existed. There he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic around every corner, but a great destiny that's been waiting for him. . . if Harry can survive the encounter.'
